Although my Gram taught me a basic chain stitch when I was young, the first time I crocheted something for “real” was in 2013 when I found a “Crochet Winnie the Pooh and Friends” in the discount section of our local Barnes & Noble. Although I jumped in with gusto, as you can see, my poor Pooh and Piglet are uneven, eyeless, scary creatures. I hadn’t yet learned that safety eyes have to go in before you add the stuffing and no one told me that people usually start with flat squares, not stuffed animals. Regardless, I was, well... hooked. Since then it has been a rare day that I don’t stitch SOMETHING and I always have a project (or two) in my bag, ready to go. And we won’t mention the amount of yarn, supplies, and works-in-progress that threaten to take over our home… and that my husband so patiently puts up with!
As the years went on, I pushed my limits with thinner and thinner yarn and I can now comfortably work with anything from a bulky yarn all the way down to sewing thread. I also fell in love with working with people to find just the right pattern and fibers to create their perfect something.
I’ve come a long way since my Pooh and Piglet days and I am excited to work with you to create your bespoke, heirloom quality piece.
